This tour can be accessed from any of Ireland's International airports although ideally entering and departing via Dublin would be the easiest option.
The tour will allow the customer a greater amount of time to get to know the areas in which they are residing and of course the locals that reside in those locations. One of the greatest advantages of the 5 Centre Tour is that you will undoubtedly feel considerably more rested at the end of the tour than someone who has taken the alternative 8 day tour where they stay in each location for just one or two nights.
Your first journey will depend on your airport of arrival, whether it be Dublin, Shannon or Cork. For this itinerary, we will be using Dublin airport as the starting point. This 14 night tour will enable you to visit Ireland’s most famous sights including Trinity College and Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin, Powerscourt House & the Waterford Crystal Factory in the South East, Blarney Castle and the Cobh Heritage Centre in Cork, Killarney and the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, the Cliffs of Moher and the ‘Burren Landscape’ of County Clare and Galway Bay and the Aran Islands in the west of Ireland. From there travel north to County Donegal via Sligo (or Yeats County) and into Derry in Northern Ireland to visit the wondrous Giants Causeway back towards Dublin and on route you may wish to visit Ireland's most popular attraction, the ancient Megalithic Tombs at Newgrange, just 45 minutes north of Dublin.
This tour will leave the traveller with a wonderful array of memories of the diverse scenery and cultural differences that they will encounter from one side of the country to the other. While the accents and dialects of the spoken word will vary greatly while journeying from County Dublin in the east of Ireland to the western counties of Cork, Kerry and Clare, the one unchanging constant will be the level of friendliness, humour & welcome that you receive throughout your travels.
Shannon Airport is the ideal international airport to fly into as it is only 2 hours drive to the heart of the South West, whereas Dublin Airport is a 5 hour drive. For those arriving from the U.K. or Europe Kerry Airport is only 15 minutes drive and Cork Airport is a 1.25 hour journey. Collect your rental car or meet with your driver. Transfer to your hotel in Killarney. Today is a free day to settle in and get over the jet lag. Alternatively we could arrange for an additional round today at Dooks Golf Club or at Killarney Golf Club, Mahony's Point Course.
Travel half way round the spectacular Ring of Kerry to Waterville Golf Club. In 1999 at a ceremony during the now famous Ryder Cup in Brookline Massachusetts, Payne Stewart accepted the Captaincy of Waterville – the last golf honour he would receive before his tragic death. Today a life sized bronze statue pays tribute to his Captaincy and his special relationship with Waterville.
Overnight in Killarney
Designed and built by Arnold Palmer, this stunning setting represents a true paradise for those willing to challenge what is widely acclaimed as one of the finest links courses in the world. Smitten at first sight, Palmer would later go on record with this memorable quote: “I may have designed the first nine, but surely God designed the back nine”. It comes as no surprise to learn that, due to the majestic beauty of this setting, Palmer choose Tralee Golf Club to be his first and, arguably, his finest golf course in Europe.
Ballybunion Golf Club - Old Course : "Having played the Old Course in Ballybunion many times since my first visit in 1981, I am now of the opinion it is one of the best and most beautiful tests of links golf anywhere in the world." Tom Watson - Millennium Ballybunion Captain and 5 time British Open Winner. Overnight back in Killarney
Nestled amongst the splendour of the famous lakes of Killarney and with the spectacular backdrop of the MacGillycuddy Reeks, Ireland's highest mountain range, lies three unique Championship Courses to challenge you. Of these the Killarney Golf Club, Killeen Course is the most challenging. Nick Faldo, on winning The Irish Open in 1991, was one of only three players to finish under par. Overnight in Killarney
Depart Killarney this morning and head north to take a short ferry ride across the River Shannon into County Clare and on to Lahinch. Lahinch Golf Club is frequently referred to as “the St. Andrew’s of Ireland” because of its close proximity and interaction with the local village. The links is situated on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
Overnight in Lahinch or in the town of Ennis. For those taking the deluxe option spend the night at the magnificent Dromoland Castle.
Doonbeg Golf Club plays along 1.5 miles of beach and dunes with the ocean visible from the green, fairway, or tee on 16 of the 18 holes. Greg Norman, who designed the course said, "This is a course I want to be identified with, one I will be able to say with pride, 'I did that one.' I am the luckiest designer in the world . . . because of the uniqueness of the site." Overnight in Lahinch
Depending on where you stay you will have between 10 minutes to a 1 hour drive to Shannon Aiport.
