Waterside Cottages are situated on the
eastern shores of Lough Derg on the River Shannon in the friendly
lakeside harbour village of Dromineer, which is overlooked by
the remains of the 16th century castle.
The eleven luxurious cottages, both detached and semi-detached
are situated in an elegant setting on the lakeshore, beside
the Lough Derg Yacht Club, which is the third oldest in the
world, founded in 1837. Entrance to the houses are beautifully
landscaped grounds is through a private electronic gate and
everyone has their own parking space.
The Barbeque and tennis court on site is for resident’s
exclusive use. There is also Bait Fridges & Tackle Room
for Fishermen.
Close to Lough Derg, which is popular for picnics, swimming,
lakeshore walks, angling, windsurfing, water-skiing and yachting
– Lough Derg is the pleasure Lake of Ireland.
The unpolluted, non-tidal waters make it the perfect place for
all watersports. Cruiser enthusiasts love to visit the local
pubs and shops for supplies when they berth in the harbour.
The Shannon Sailing Centre in Dromineer is a bustling area of
activity, with facilities for chartering yachts, and tuition
in all water sports.
Pony Trekking and equestrian centres are available in the Lough
Derg Area.
For golfers, there is an 18-hole course in Nenagh, just 10 minutes
drive.
In the village there is an excellent pitch and putt course.
The Silvermines and Devil’s Bit Mountain are situated
in North County Tipperary and provide spectacular drives and
stimulation walks. The river Suir is noted for its brown trout
and is accessible at many points.
Tipperary attractions include Holy Cross Abbey – One
o Europe’s most significant early monastic sites: Nenagh
And Roscrea heritage centres and “Lar Na Pairce". |
