About The Zetland Country House Hotel

Built in the early 1800’s, Zetland Country House is situated overlooking Cashel Bay in the heart of Connemara, surrounded by acres of garden. The House originally built as a sporting lodge derives its name from the Earl of Zetland, a regular guest and Lord Viceroy to Ireland in the last century. Antique furnishings and panoramic sea views have recreated the charm and elegance of those days combined with the sophisticated luxury expected by discerning guests. The cuisine, with an emphasis on local seafood, is second to none. Guests can enjoy the numerous walks in the area, which have been mapped and documented, outlining the areas of historical and geographical interest and the local wildlife. Tennis and snooker are available on the grounds. Local attractions include the Aran Islands, Inish Bofin Island, Kylemore Abbey, Roundstone’s sandy beaches and the Connemara National Park. Clifden, Galway, Roundstone and Westport are some of the towns and villages to visit. Local activities include golf, horse riding, game fishing, sea angling, hunting, cycling, guided walks and heritage tours. Zetland Country House is owned and managed by the Prendergast family who assure you of a warm welcome and personal attention. The restaurant has two AA Rosettes.
