| Rathmullan House, a 4 star Country House, is situated on the shores
of Lough Swilly, Co Donegal in the North West region of Ireland.
Donegal is undoubtedly one of Ireland's most beautiful counties
and has everything from wonderful Atlantic Beaches, idyllic unspoilt
lakes to rambling hills and mountains, forest walks and open friendly
people, delighted to welcome you. For the sports enthusiast, superb
links and inland golf courses, excellent horse-riding, hill walking
and all kinds of angling - game, course and deep-sea fishing are
on offer. |
| |
| An outstanding feature of Rathmullan House is the glowing
silk Arabian tent designed dining room where the cooking is in
Irish Country House style. Where possible, organic fruit, vegetables
and herbs are used from the walled garden. Locally caught fish
and seafood is a specialty, as is Donegal lamb, which can be described
as "pre-salé". A gastronomes term for the wonderful
flavour the meat takes on due to the grazing enriched by wind-borne
deposits of minerals from salty sea air. The breakfast buffet
at Rathmullan House defies description: The food is excellent
and if you eat breakfast you probably won't want to think about
lunch!

This gracious Country House Hotel, which was built in the 1760's
and is typical of the Georgian era has a glorious setting above
the shores of Lough Swilly in the wild and beautiful county of
Donegal. It stands amid award winning gardens with lawns and trees
which stretch down to one of the many deserted sandy beaches of
the area. Inside, elegant sitting rooms tastefully furnished with
antiques and paintings provide slumbering comfort with views over
the garden and Lough. Open turf fires keep them cosy in winter
and provide the perfect setting of an Irish Coffee or a pint of
Guinness.
