Castle Howard is widely regarded of Britain’s finest historic houses for over 300 years by the Howard family. What makes the Castle Howard special is that it is very much a family home. It is located in North Yorkshire, 24km north of York. Castle Howard is not a true castle but an English country house constructed on the grounds of a former military castle. The construction of Castle Howard bean back in 1699 and it took over 100 years to complete the construction. The place has a glorious display of gardens and flowers. Behind the castle there is a large formal garden and make sure to keep an eye out for Temple of the four winds and the Atlas Fountain designed by John Thomas. It is a popular film location and it has been used in music videos and it is also a Grade 1 listed structure.
